It is nearing that time when everybody pulls out those journals that have probably not seen the light of day since the last New Year to make their next set of resolutions. In order to mentally and physically prepare for what is to come in 2018, we have put together three resolutions that can pave the way to a prosperous and successful year for all.

Get to the vision

When children are growing up, they are often asked, “What is your dream?” However, dreams are usually associated with having a sense of imagination or being in some far away land that’s unattainable to reach.

When one can’t quite figure out what their dream is because it seems so far, introducing new vocabulary to the mix can awaken that vision which is within. In 2018, start replacing the word ‘dream’ with the word ‘vision’. Visualization then becomes a part of the process of reaching that place the heart desires and finally start to live your “dream.”

Learn to let go

The road to success can be a challenging and time-consuming part of life. In this new age, one is constantly being told to always work harder, push harder, and achieve more. But the reality is that one can only work so much and achieve so much at a time until there is nothing left to do but wait to receive one’s earnings. That is why it is imperative that in 2018, we learn to trust the process and let go.

In the words of Ms. Oprah Winfrey on her experience with letting go and surrendering in the ‘Oprah’s Master Class’ televised on OWN, she stated, “When you’ve worked as hard, and done as much, and strived, and tried, and given, and plead, and bargained, and hoped…surrender. “

“When you have done all that you can do and there’s nothing left for you to do, give it up,” advises Ms. Winfrey. Allowing life to happen paves way for you to see the bigger picture of the vision of your life.

Eat more organically

In order to have the energy that is necessary to connect to the heart, mind, and body, choosing to eat fresher, organically produced food can benefit your health and provide the energy needed to achieve your dreams in 2018. According to Time Magazine, organically produced foods and meats are grown without the use of pesticide, which is a chemical sprayed on produce to avoid insects, and without the use of antibiotics and synthetic hormones in animals.

By avoiding consumption of these chemicals, you increase your health and reduce the risk of cancer and unwanted toxins that come from the chemicals’ residue. In this coming year, opt to eat legumes such as kale, beans, nuts, lentils, cottage cheese, and Greek yogurt, which provide more nutrients to the body, and allows you to feel fresh and ready to tackle any challenges 2018 throws your way.
